How do I get a picture from a video?

I'm trying to get a picture of my friend playing bass for his facebook, but all I have is a video of him playing. Is there a way for me to get a picture from one of the video frames or something?

Unless you have capture software which allows you to take snapshots of video, the only way to do it will be with the "Prt Scr" or Print Screen button.

Do the following steps in this order.

1. Open up Paint.
2. Open up the video in something like Windows Media Player.
3. Make the video full screen.
4. Fast forward to the exact spot you want.
5. Hit pause when there.
6. While it is paused and in full screen, hit the Prt Scr button.
7. Close the full screen.
8. Switch to paint.
9. Hit Ctrl+V which is the paste command.
10. There should now be an image of your entire screen to include the video playing.
11. Using paint, crop out the parts you do not want.
12. Save as the desired file type.
